Erling Haaland provides Manchester City fans with fitness update

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has provided a fitness update to fans on social media.

The 24-year-old sustained an ankle issue during City’s 2-1 win over Bournemouth last month in the FA Cup.

Haaland has since not featured for Pep Guardiola’s side, but it is expected he will be back before the end of the season.

In his absence, Omar Marmoush has stepped up well for City, with the Egyptian scoring twice in his previous five Premier League matches.

However, Guardiola will be very keen to have his main striker back to full fitness.

Judging by Haaland’s recent social media post, it appears the Norwegian could return to the squad soon.

He posted a picture to his Snapchat story of his boots with the caption ‘Getting there!’.

Haaland has failed to hit the heights of previous seasons in 2024-25. However, he has still managed to put together big numbers for his team this campaign.

In 40 matches across all competitions, the centre-forward has scored 30 goals and created four assists.

The Citizens are currently enjoying an impressive run of form, as they are unbeaten in their previous seven games.

Their latest success came on Tuesday against Aston Villa, with the result moving them to third in the league standings.

Bernardo Silva delivered an early breakthrough for City in the home encounter before Marcus Rashford restored parity from the spot after 18 minutes.

The game looked to be heading for a draw as both sides failed to extend the scoreline in normal time.

However, Matheus Nunes netted a stoppage-time winner to secure a crucial victory for the eight-time Premier League winners

City are also aiming to win the FA Cup this season, and they are set to meet Nottingham Forest in the semi-final on Sunday.
