Man City in July: Three pre-season friendlies as Guardiola looks to build on their success last term

Manchester City were not impeccable last season as they suffered disappointing losses at Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. But once they got into their stride in February, they became absolutely unstoppable.

Pep Guardiola’s men outclassed one opponent after another in astonishing fashion, sealing the Premier League title comfortably in the end.

Arsenal competed brilliantly with City for the majority of the campaign but their levels massively dropped towards the end as they finished five points behind their rivals.

The Citizens continued their relentless run as they also outclassed Manchester United in the FA Cup final, which put them on the brink of completing a historic treble.

The English champions were far from their dominating best in the Champions League final but they still managed to edge past Inter Milan, thanks to Rodri’s 68th-minute strike, to pull off the incredible feat.

Under the world’s best coach in Pep Guardiola, Manchester City will aim to continue their dominance next term.

They have lost Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona in this summer transfer window but have also signed Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea in a £25 million deal.

Guardiola will look to lay a solid foundation for next season by performing well in the pre-season friendlies this summer

The Citizens will travel to Asia in July to begin their pre-season by playing against Yokohama F Marinos on July 23.

They will then take on Bayern Munich at the National Stadium in Tokyo before meeting Atletico Madrid on July 30 in Seoul.

The Manchester giants will end their pre-season after squaring off with Arsenal at the Wembley Stadium on August 6.
