Manchester City set to sign Mahamadou Sangare on free transfer

In latest Manchester City transfer news, the club are set to sign talented striker Mahamadou Sangare.

According to reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Citizens have reached an agreement to sign the 18-year-old from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.

The young talent will undergo medical tests before the move becomes official.

Sangare is yet to make a first-team appearance for PSG, but he has impressed with his performances for its youth teams.

This season, the centre-forward has bagged 10 goals and two assists in 11 games for the Under-19 side.

The forward is highly rated for his pace, movement and a sharp eye for goal.

But Sangare is clearly one for the future and it could be years before he is ready to play in the first-team.

The Manchester giants have a strong history of developing young players through their academy.

Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Liam Delap are examples of players who developed into stars through their system.

The club also boast a track record of bringing in young players before selling them for a huge profit.

Manchester City have endured a massively disappointing 2024-25 campaign.

After lifting four consecutive Premier League trophies, the Citizens were expected to be in the title race once again this season.

But the disappointing performances throughout the campaign mean Pep Guardiola’s side are even struggling to secure a Champions League finish.

City have been impressive in recent weeks, but they cannot afford to drop their levels with four other teams in contention for the three European spots below Liverpool and Arsenal.

Given their remaining matches are against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Southampton, Bournemouth and Fulham, Guardiola’s side are expected to claim maximum points against these teams.
