Manchester City will not pursue a move for Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento this summer, according to ESPN.
The Citizens are in the market for a new right-back after Kyle Walker left to join Burnley earlier this month.
City have been impressed with Livramento, who has hit the ground running since joining the Magpies in 2023 for a fee worth up to £40 million.
The England international has featured in 80 games across all competitions, with three goal contributions to his name.
However, it emerges Pep Guardiola’s side will not be pursuing a deal for Livramento.
Newcastle also have no intention of selling their prized asset in the current Premier League transfer window.
The Tyneside club are eager to offer Livramento a lucrative contract extension, despite having three years left on his current deal.
City could turn their focus to Barcelona’s Jules Kounde, but a move for the Frenchman is also expected to be difficult.
Journalist Fabrice Hawkins reports the La Liga giants are hoping to agree a new contract with Kounde.
The 26-year-old is highly valued at the Spanish club, who are confident about a positive outcome after weeks of negotiations over a new deal.
City conducted most of their transfer business before the summer’s FIFA Club World Cup. They signed Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli, Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders early in the window.
But transfer activity has since been slow at the Etihad Stadium, with the club now focusing on outgoings than incomings.
They are open to offers for Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips, while the future of Ederson has been thrown into doubt amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.
