Real Madrid to scout Eric Garcia

Spanish champions Real Madrid are going to send scout to watch Eric Garcia during Spain’s next International fixture against Switzerland.

This comes from an exclusive report by Bernabeu Digital.

According to the report, Real Madrid are eyeing Eric Garcia as a potential replacement for their captain Sergio Ramos.

Madrid’s first choice to replace is not Garcia but Villarreal center back Pau Torres. Pau Torres is the perfect choice in Madrid’s opinion. The defender is estimated to cost close to €50 million. Though, Real are hoping to drag the price down to €30 million.

If they are not able to do that, the Los Blancos will turn their attention to Eric Garcia.

This is all Madrid’s way of preparing for a life after their mercurial captain. Sergio Ramos is in the last year of his contract and Madrid are aware that it will be difficult to convince Ramos, whose demands on the duration of the contract and financial conditions are very high in times of crisis.

The European Giants are also aware of PSG’s interest in Ramos. The French champions are reportedly ready to hand a blank cheque to get him to Paris.

Manchester City are resigned to letting Eric Garcia leave in the future. The Spanish youngster has repeatedly rejected City’s offers of a contract extension. He want to leave England to return home to Barcelona.

Barcelona did try to sign him in the summer, but City rejected their multiple offers owing to differences in the transfer fee. Barca will reportedly try again in the January window and are hoping to convince City to sell him.

Man City’s valuation of €23 million for Garcia is a thorn in Barcelona’s side. Real Madrid are waiting to swoop in during the January window if the two clubs fail to arrive at an agreement.

Though, it is unclear whether Eric Garcia will accept a move to Real Madrid. The youngster has always stated his desire to return to Barcelona and it is perplexing to think about moving to Real Madrid after these Catalonian wishes.
